Dr Amy Walsh
Research & Development Manager
Amy Walsh is the Research & Development Manager for Safic-Alcan Ltd UK lab. She studied for a MChem chemistry degree at the University of Sheffield and graduated with first class honours in 2010. Amy continued her academic career at the University of Sheffield and began working towards a PhD in the field of polymer science. Her research focussed on the synthesis and characterisation of polymers to stabilise the pigments used in inkjet printing inks. Amy was awarded her PhD in 2014.
Amy has more than 4 years’ experience developing formulations in the personal care industry. She started her professional career working at Hydrokem Aerosols designing innovative formulations for use in personal care, household, veterinary, medical device and specialty technical product ranges. She then worked at Unilever as a Formulation Scientist in their aerosol team, focussing her research efforts on hair care products. Amy has been a part of the Safic-Alcan team since July 2017
